Antique Bracket Clocks

Bracket clocks are a captivating blend of elegance and practicality, often characterised by their compact, portable design and intricate craftsmanship. Typically encased in finely decorated wooden or metal cases, these antique clocks were originally designed to sit on a mantelpiece or bracket, hence their name. The design of bracket clocks often includes beautiful features such as domed tops, carved details, and brass or gilt finishes, which make them both functional timepieces and exquisite decorative objects. Many also feature musical chimes, adding a delightful auditory element to their visual appeal. Popular from the 17th to the 19th century, bracket clocks are highly regarded by collectors for their historical value and timeless charm, making them a prized addition to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
